Best Motown band of all time

Im just going to pretend this is a 60/70s soul thread instead of specifically Motown.

Probably in my top 5 songs ever (great video as well). Crazy that motown actually turned it down along with 'what's going on' because it wasn't classed as 'motown' enough at the time.

Go for it mate. I only made the thread as was getting pished and listening to the four tops. Any music of that style from that era is welcome.

My late wife and her twin sister used to do a lip-sync act to the Supremes back in the 80s and 90s. They'd get a friend to fill out the trio and call themselves the Cream Supremes. Had all the moves down pat. Actually won a lip-sync competition at a pub one night.

My memories of that era are my and my little brother watching our big sister and her mate synchronising their dance moves in huge platforms. How they ever managed to stay upright goes against the laws of physics.
Both have since passed but music keeps memories strong, especially soul music. ;)

Anybody remember "Rare Earth"they were on a sub label of Motown and done a great cover of "I'm losing you" by the Temptations actually charted better than the original,if you have 10 mins or so to listen to some psychadelic Motown click play
