What's your favourite horror film?

A few good ones: Friday the 13th, Nightmares in a damaged brain, Cannibal Holocaust (apart from the bits that should have been illegal), Nightmare on Elm Street.

I can't get scared in horror these days, but when I was a kid I loved them and couldn't even sleep after one.

Amityville 2. Used to scare the wits out of me as a kid.

Re-animator is a decent horror flick.

Anything with Bruce Campbell in. Army of Darkness rocks. "Hail to the king baby!"

The Exorcist ( though it seems very dated now )

I prefer horror books to be honest, James Herbert,Shaun Hutson etc.

Id never seen it until they rereleased it a few years ago.

I had nightmares.

Also The Ring. Scared the crap out of me. You have to see Horror at the movies, theres no comparable way.

Kung Pow enter the fist. That scared me that it would even consider being funny. Only film Ive walked out on.

Just recently watched a nightime screening of Amityville Horror at Glastonbury - scared the [Poor language removed] out of me and everyone else as we all sat in the pitch black tent, with wind and rain lashing down outside.

Then the bouncer ruined everything by not letting my bird back in after nipping out to the loo - the nob!:@

Saying that - at least I could sleep that night!!!

IT [Poor language removed] me up as a kid.

They all float down here. **shudders**

Did anyone watch Ghost Watch on Halloween years ago- with Michael Aspel?! That also absolutely ruined me.

I used to love the old Hammer films when I was about 10 or 11. Every Friday night they would show a good vampire or werewolf movie. The vampire ones were the best, what with all those sexy female vampires. I remember Vampire Circus was pretty good. Also those films that had a few different stories were cool. That is, five lonely strangers meet on a deserted train platform and tell each other a bizarre story. It turns out the stories are true and the people are all dead and on their way to the spirit world.

that was a scary one as i remember, the bad taste one from new zealand, loads of other strange stuff from there and aus. mcbain for one:D

Nightmares in a Damaged Brain was from the old video nasty times. It really was nasty, unlike the majority of other so-called nasties.

Here's another good one: Blood Bath aka Death of the Twitch Nerve (uncut version only). This film is Italian and forerunner for the mass of teenage slasher movies like Friday 13th and the Burning. It's a black comedy and not particularly gory, just very well put together for a low budget film.

Nice 1 Vim, been looking 4 that 4 years. Other good 1s are Childs Play, Hellraiser, The Fly, Scream, Children of the Corn, Halloween, 28 Days Later, Dog Soldiers, Silence of the Lambs, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Psycho, Night of the Living Dead, Carrie, From Dusk Till Dawn, Final Destination & Poltergeist

An old one for you is Freaks. It comes on TV every so often and is pretty weird and has a good ending.
