One of the best i ever saw was Eusabio 1966 World cup..
Bunked in.

...he scored a few, think he got 4 against South Korea. Always remember that Pak Do Ik was great for Korea. Thinking about '66, Garrincha scored that great banana kick in the Park End. Amazing, it was before the plastic coated footballs, yet he generated that swerve, fabulous goal from the Little Bird.

There was only one goal that is always repeated..the volley into the p/end..

.....great goal that one. I wasn't at that game, but remember that volley. He was like a panther was Eusabio, smooth as silk. That one must be up there, think he scored 4 in that game, certainly got a pen.

North Korea!!!!!!! We don't want GOT at war mate do we?!?!

far to many to think of, sheedy scored a chip v leicester in a 5,1 win that was special , think the whole ground burst out laughing when he did it
This was the one I had in mind when I saw the OP. Being right behind the strike not only did he chip it, there was right-left swerve on it that you can't make out on the telly clip of it. Sheedy very rarely scored simple goals, what a player.

Best headed goals (maybe worth another thread):
Cahill's versus Arsenal in, I think, 2010.
Gray's 2 vs Sunderland, obviously 1985
Gray vs Fortuna Sittard 1985

....November 1972 that game. Brooking and Best scored but the goal I'm thinking of wasn't a pen. Not sure if he scored on another occasion at Goodison.

Checked it out Eggs,08/01/1972,won 2-1,Johnson and Harvey for us,Geoff Hurst with a Pen for the 'ammers, dunno how I could have mixed Clyde and Geoff up even if I was only six at the time!!

.....mists of time, Dario. Amazing how things stick in the mind, though, like the pen hitting the post and Gordon West on the back. More than 40 years so its not surprising we get mixed up with some of the detail.

One worth a mention is Colin Harvey's against WBA April 1970 to clinch league title that season. So many of the above were unbelievable pieces of skill I could not choose just one although the Graeme Sharp vs Spurs in 82 had people saying to each other did that really just happen ? It was a surreal moment. TV clip does not do it justice.
Harvey scored very few goals but this was a mazy run across the edge of the park end penalty box. Had nowhere to go so just kept possession and then suddenly just hit it..... Cue mega celebrations because it clinched the league for a truly ace team. Night match too just to add to the atmosphere!

I agree...I was there only 12 - my late brother took me. He should've gone back to work in London after the easter weekend but stayed up here for the match. Absolutely magnificent goal.

Talking about Colin Harvey I remember particularly a goal of his again v WBA in the season following the '68 final defeat - we won 4-0 and I think Bally got a hat trick. Colin got the ball midway in WBA's half, waltzed past defenders (not sure how many) and slid the ball under John Osborne at the Street End..superb individual goal ...what a player

Arteta vs Bolton
McFadden vs Charlton
Billy vs Portsmouth
Arteta vs Fioretina

Can't really decide between those four.
