Best away atmosphere you've ever been to?

Some great shouts on here. One I've not seen mentioned is the Chelsea FA Cup replay at Stamford Bridge in 2011. An early kick off and a Baines free kick in the last minute of extra time to take it to penalties, where Phil Neville hit the winning spot kick after Heitinger had walked into Ashley Cole as he was walking up to take his penalty to put him off. Amazing scenes at the end. Then we went out to Reading at home!!!
Great memories

Not been to many but Boro away in the cup a few years ago. Deulofeu scored a great goal, there were grown men screaming and dancing in each others faces. The noise was immense for the whole match.

I also saw a lad pour his pint on the floor as his mate asked him for the time.

Nurnberg.
Sunderland FA Cup Qtr
Liege - was in their end, pissed, with a Dutch Blue. Interesting evening.
Utd Oviedo game....was in Utd end and went mad.
Utd 4-4...ditto.

As others have said, that Sunderland away cup quarter replay was special. The scenes when David Vaughn scored that own goal, good lord.

As for an underrated one, Boro away in the league cup quarter a couple of years back was great.

Had brilliant days out for both of those.

Metallist Khatkhiv away. Overnight train from Kiev bouncing all night and 20 minutes of “never felt more like singing the blues...” towards the end of the match.

Definitely wasn't Lille away....and our short-cut drive home ahem which found us on London Bridge in Friday rush hour. Great bit of navigating that Lee ha ha

As a guest Blue;
WHU Nov 2008 , came from behind to win 3-1.
Man City December 2008. Late header from Tim Cahill. "Scenes" featured on MOTD.
Fulham October 2011 (Sunday lunchtime) came from behind to win 3-1 after they led with a worldy. Drenthe and Hibbo nearly coming to blows.
Bristol City in the Cup, 2 late goals from Bakyoko.(sp). Bedlam.

When Latchford scored against West Ham at Elland Road in the FA Cup, was at the top of their Kop and travelled down about 40 flights of stairs towards the railings were Latchford was celebrating, what a 10 minute ride that was
I forgot about that was a good atmosphere that night.
We got let off the train in a station in the middle of knowere and had to walk through a field to get route to the ground.
Notable trip for a big skinhead v scally play fight on the train (taking each others carriges) that got out of hand , there were cuts and bruises all over the show before we had even got there, due to a few minutes of insanity, must have looked nuts to an outsider but we were all mates before and after it,
great being a blue those days.

the Rooney game at Leeds, I can't remember an away game with the same buzz of anticipation as there was at Elland Road that day.

That away, in my 21 years watching us, is the pinnacle for me.

I’ve been to some belted aways, homes and Euro’s, but that moment. I think I was maybe 10? Was the moment I just fell in Everton more than anything.

That away end was rocking, literall. What a day.

One that springs to mind for me is Man Utd in the cup in '83 - we had 14,000 there as I recall. We lost, just, but played really well and I remember that game now as an early sign that things might get better under Kendall.

An odd one but memorable in a strange kind of way - Spurs away in the Screen sports super cup (or whatever it was called) in '86. 0-0, and it was snowing.

I was old enough in the mid 80's to start travelling to the away games, and was at many mentioned above, clinching the league at Norwich though was fantastic, not just the game, but even the long journey home was brilliant! I was travelling around New Zealand when Rooney scored at Leeds and remember waking up in the early hours to hear on the world service that we had won there, but when I saw the goal and the celebrations on New Zealand TV (I also remember seeing a win at West Ham on that trip,Carsley scored and that looked fantastic too),I really did wish at that moment I could have been back home. A more obscure one,but a memorable night for those that were there,a 1-0 win at City in the early 90's,Beardsley scored, but with the last kick of the game,City had a penalty and a young lad who I think might have been making his debut for City (Michael Hughes)blasted it over the bar, there must have been 4000 of us bouncing on those old wooden benches in the Platt Lane stand when he did that, coming out of the ground was edgy to say the least!
