I like him

If he can stay healthy then he'll be a great addition to the team
I think the fitness bit is the big question mark, not his ability. I think we've seen enough in the short spells when he has been fully fit to know we have a good player here. He'll be needed next year if we are going to compete in Europe as well as domestically.

Personally, I wouldn't risk him this season. Just give him a few run outs with the under 23s then give him a proper pre season.

I agree actually

Ease him back in, don't make him run before he can walk

No need to is there. We have so much cover in that dept we could even stand 2 or 3 injuries. problem we've had with Mo, and the same with Macca, is that we've rushed them back from injury far too often, and they've either aggravated the original injury or picked up a secondary one.

It's odd that a lot of lads really like this guy. I have never seen any signs that he brings anything to the team whatsoever. I do not know where he would fit in, and at whose expense.

I can only assume you didn't watch the semi final home leg against City last year, in which he put in one of the best individual performances by an Everton midfielder in the 20+ years I've been going to the game. I'm a massive fan of Gana, but he has never played as well as Besic did that night.

He's had some very good performances, the first leg against City last season especially

At his best, he's a very handy player to be able to call on, especially if we're in Europe and need to rotate the line up

In fairness he's hardly been fit enough for us. He had a spell in Jan last year before he got injured again. Came on as sub against Spurs and changed the game and took that form into the next few games including the semi first leg against City in which he was outstanding. he's also played games for Bosnia in which he often has a specific man marking job, and I've seen him dominate some of the BEST players in the world including Messi and Bale.

He's not going to be a starter for Everton in our first choice starting XI, but assuming we qualify for the EL we're going to have a lot of games to play next season. We also need good squad players to cover for injuries. For me, he would make a very good squad player.

Shame.

He is completely two footed, can tackle, has a good eye for a pass and is a good communicator on the pitch.

I don't really know what to see to people who can't see what he can bring to a side.

I understand those wary of him staying fit long enough to do anything but his actual ability should be obvious.

As for where he could fit in, Besic, Schniederlin and Gana as 3 midfield destroyers who can also go anywhere and pass the ball would work for me. They are all intelligent players who can switch position with each other.

It's the future. Davies and McCarthy (to an extent) can do it too.

I think Besic is great and has bags of potential, we'll soon see what Koeman thinks, but personally I think Gueye-Schneiderlin with Besic and McCarthy as backup is fantastic! We definitely need the 4 CMs - purely down to how much the CMs actually work, they'll need to be rested quite abit throughout the season.

hes 25 at the start of next season, he'd need to fulfil this potential quite sharpish if hes to have a future in the premier league

I think we still see Mo as potential because he's played so little for us since he joined. Agree that he needs to get his injury situation sorted in the next season and a bit. Didn't he sign a new deal last year, so at least in that respect he has time on his side.
