Yes the tricky bit will be next year when it comes to being renewed. He'd need to drop his demands a reasonable amount.
Agree with the wages bit. It would have been better had we given him a signing on fee and half the wages, and then you wouldn't have all the cryarses using it as a stick to beat him with.
He wouid have got a singing on fee. The rule apparently is, a years wages. So 6mil just to sign. And his agent probably got a couple a mil.

A very expensive journeymen

And there’s no way he gets a new deal. Not a chance he will be gone in the summer

It’s called ambition mate, you Wouldn’t know what that was if it smacked you in the face.

Seems to me you’ve spent the last 36hrs on the Bernard thread, because he controlled a ball out the sky. Go and chat with Mrs or play a few Christmas games with the kids.
Whatever I do will be more enjoyable and rewarding than conversing on an internet forum with a muppet like you.

See ya ;)

Honestly the ambition from
Some of our fans is shocking. Bernard has a decent cameo v the worst team In the league . And
You’re hailing him as some saviour.
who knows what wouid have happened had Gordon stayed on.

no one is mentioning Bernards 40mins v a top team like Utd 4 days before. I wonder why.

he gets paid an absolute fortune. Amd
You can’t on one hand how many games he’s influenced in 2.5 years.

You like many others though, are not really basing your criticism on any analysis of his actual game. Don't just tell us he's rubbish mate but tell us why he is rubbish? Honestly, I'd be interested to hear it (as long as its not eees too short!).

But why not recognize that many players especially those with genuine talent (surely you can see he has technical skill no?) could well yet be developed/improved under Carlo's experienced tutelage? Hell if Siggys improving is it really so crazy to imagine that we could find some use for a player like Bernard?

The problem with opinions like yours is they are so black and white, and you don't leave any possibility for the chance that just maybe, you could be wrong.

And honestly, you have clearly not been watching if you think Bernard has only influenced a handful of games. In this season alone he played about 4 games that I can remember.
One cup game he was highly praised and scored. One Newcastle game where he changed things pretty much like last night (and almost scored a worldie) where he came on providing us with some much needed creativity and bite going forward. One united game when he scored a fantastic goal, and another where he was pretty poor to be honest. But why do all the other players who were also poor in that game get a pass but Bernie gets crucified? All players have bad games especially in bad teams...

Where you to go back and read the match threads from last season when he was actually playing you would find them to be full of praise. When I watched him at Goodison last winter he received a standing ovation for his efforts and also provided an assist, performing pretty much just as he did the other night. He was very popular before he began getting dropped (and who knows the reason) then it suddenly became accepted wisdom that he was not good enough!

He was one of the few players last season who did well in what was a seriously underperforming team and as he showed the other night he is often a player (as his goal against united also shows) who will pull something out of the hat when the rest of the team is dire.

Try to watch him with genuine objectivity and without just looking to exonorate your own opinions.

You're only as good as your last game, mate. Gordon was poor in his last game and Bernard replaced him and played well. Not going to go over the top or get carried away by his performance though.

Right... now who do I see about getting a statue of Bernard erected outside the ground?

Embarrassing post
Jesus, so he’s had a few good games. One in the cup. One against Newcastle. Almost yes that’s right ALMOST scored a Worldie.

changed the game the other night apparently. Well what was he doing From the 55min to the goal on 82? Because we didn’t have a shot on target against the worst team in the league.

I was quite excited when we signed, but if was obvious very early on, he wasn’t going To be a success. To slow to week and not a threat in the final 3rd 1 goal in 34 games in his first season, he probably only got a few assist as well. I don’t think he rubbish, but he’s been a failure at the club. And if you think he hasn’t then I don’t know what you’ve been watching.

Amd has he improved siggurdsson? Yes maybe he’s working harder, but I don’t see much difference. People will say he scored the winner the other night, well done. He also missed a sitter v Burnley. He free kicks are garbage, still hasn’t scored one for the club. And I know some people will point to his corners and we’ve scored of one the other day. But we have about 5 players over 6”2 we should be a threat from them.

And once Digne & James are back he won’t be taking any of them.
