'Hugely expensive'? granted he's on 100k a week but it's not like we spent upwards of £50m to bring him in mate...

For what it's worth, I do still like him. He's a baller in my eyes and has done well when he's been involved this season, by and large.

£5.2 million wage but he was a free transfer. If some one came in waving £10 to £20 million I would say yes. I would then use Gordon more in place of him. It would mean perhaps up to £20 mill in the bank and save say £2.5 mill on payroll.

For me he’s blocking a spot for a new midfielder. Thought he’d be Juninho (I’m an optimist) but he offers little. Worth a try though given his free but not happening for him or us

Yeah at this point having him is keeping Gordon out even if it isn't many minutes so it is probably just as well we moved him on.

Problem is his wages do not even come close to matching his ability so we might be stuck.

Oh and @windymiller I was spot on here. Just a reminder.

I want him to stay and get more chances but besides that, flogging him in January would be questionable treatment after having prevented a transfer to Roma just a few months ago that Bernard was allegedly interested in.

Why does he deserves more chances? When he’s hardly offered anything. And we don’t know the circumstances of Roma’s offer, could have wanted a loan or him on the cheap

Wait did we stop the transfer? That's dumb.

Partly because he's got a lot of talent on the ball and he's among the more creative squad players; mostly because I like him. I'd like to see him get more time centrally rather than on the wing.

Thing is, he's played pretty well in every game he's played.

It's just Carlo clearly doesn't trust him because of his physicality in certain situations.

As of late, we've rarely been chasing a game. I believe he should have been on against Burnely, but then again Carlo probably didn't want him going up against big grock defenders.

He isn't a bad player at all. Works dead hard so don't get this idea that he wouldn't be defensively good enough. It's just about size, really, but in his one league start this season - v United - he did well.

Supposedly Carlo put the kibosh on it. I don't know if Roma made an offer or just an inquiry.
He feels like a player to me who won't be easy to move so I don't love not doing it when we had the chance.

But then Carlo would rather play Pickford on the wing before trusting a young player so maybe he felt like that left us short. I don't love that thinking but whatever.
