…I’d never use the word ‘poor’ to describe Hibbert, he’ll be an extremely wealthy man. He’s also a very fortunate footballer to play at a time when players with such limited ability had lengthy, well paid careers at the top level.
Throw in the fact he kept himself in good condition, clearly wasn’t a ‘good time Charlie’ and took his role seriously.
Some would suggest those are the attributes of a model professional if not an overly talented one.

Obviously very professional but very limited on the ball. Was. Good defender though.

don’t begrudge him for any of his fortune. Worked hard earned the money.

His TM value is 12 mil, how can we be OK with 1 mil? And UAE clubs are v rich.
Value mentioned on a website (like Transfermarket) means absolutely nothing. If a club is willing to more or less match his Everton salary, basically removing our obligations to him we have got off lightly.

The priority was getting him off the wage bill, anything beyond that is a bonus.

My disappointment lies with the player refusing a move to Shajahs neighbours Al Nasr during the winter window. He should have been told in no uncertain terms he had zero prospect of game time and just forced out.

You say the UAE clubs are rich, you're wrong. The owners are, but the local teams are nothing more than a hobby to have a giggle about over coffee and dates in the Majlis.
