I wonder if he would benefit from being given the free role afforded to Sigurdsson. Very comfortable in possession and a very clever player.

I wouldn't mind trying that. Too often on the wing his cleverness just peters out as he gets upfield. When he starts doing tricks with the ball near the corner flag as he gets hemmed in by defenders he reminds me of the guy whipping the swords around in Indiana Jones, both in how he looks and in ultimate effectiveness.

I see a bit of Limpar in him really. He carries the ball well and takes it in all sorts of areas. The worry you'd have with him is that sometimes he's on the periphery of the game. If you play him in the middle the game could go through him and he could really like play. Interested to know if others see it, but I think he's got real ability to dictate play for us from a deeper/freer position.

I think he could be a viable option in a 4 3 3. I think he would link midfield and attack better than Gylfi.

We have never replaced Leon Osman.

This is Everton.
Osman was never a first choice midfielder for Everton, he had good days but was always too slow (except for his feet). So it's a bit ridiculous to hold him up as an example of a 'great' player from our recent past, he was not that!
