Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Everton felt they had wrapped this one up and so instructed their 'trusted' journo mates to put the stories out on Monday that he's signed for us, only for nothing to actually have been signed and Bernard to join one of our rivals 48 hours after we put the initial news out.

Not sure what has given us the upper hand over the others really, probably higher wages and guaranteed starts, but it's a massive coup for us if we manage to get it over the line.

Think it's that in one mate. Inter and AC Milan supposedly weren't willing to give him the financial package to sign that he was looking for, and I mentioned it earlier, but do Chelsea really need him, and if they did, I don't reckon he's guaranteed a starting place.
