As much as it must be a joy to see Rodriguez infront of you, the downside to him playing wide right is the full back is going to have his work cut out and you’re reliant on support from one of the centre mids helping you out,
That didn’t happen yesterday, Allan looked unfit and the more mobile out of the 3 got took off, The lad didn’t play well but it is nowhere near all his doing.

We need this sorting as a priority unless we can somehow get James central. It's been an obvious issue all season.

He is not a FB that is for sure. Very little attacking up the wing from him, to supply crosses also passing was not good. When passing needs to look up where he is passing to plus should be forward not sideways or backwards.

Absolutely rapid.

Looks a tremendous athlete.

Complete fish out of water yesterday though - positioning wise, wow. We did him no favours, they were always going to target that side - Rodriguez infront of him and Doucoure wasn't offering much by way of cover.

Based upon a full 90 minutes with James in front of him he doesn't look like a full back; I thought he would have done better. I guess with Seamus and Kenny injured we'll see a few more performances at full back - I'll hold my judgement until he's playing in his position.

I think he'll come good for us; plenty of pace, strength and ambition.

cant remember where i seen the stat earlier so cant say it exactly but something like coleman has been passing to james around 40 times a game but godfrey only managed it 4 times, majority if not all others were to mina

Feel quite bad for him to be honest. By all means he looks to be a decent CB with plenty of potential but he was left out to dry again Southampton and (quite rightly) they targeted him all match.

He was scared to do anything but the safe pass back to Mina.
Let’s not destroy his confidence by playing him there again he clearly didn’t want the ball at all

I really thought he would do much better at RB. He seems to have good pace and ball skills but a complete lack of confidence in his decision making.

Well he’s up against that Saint-Maxim lad next week at Newcastle and he’s proper rapid.
Hope he’s feeling confident.

As much as I think Doucoure was one of our best players on Sunday, I don't think he did enough to help Godfrey out. I expected Doucoure to drop in and cover for Godfrey when he got forward or got caught out of position, but that midfield cover was lacking in the game unfortunately, and that's where we lost the game.

I'm definitely reserving judgement on Godfrey until he plays his natural position, as he showed he's got quality against the sh*te. He did get left out to dry but that wasn't by starting him it was the team not helping him out.
