It’s the injuries that worry me. Rumoured his hamstring and did his knee and missed half a season. Now the RS want 30 mill for a kid who might have lost all his pace if his hamstring isn’t healed to what it was.

Even so, we shouldn’t have our pants pulled down. Trepidation regarding the injury record. He has something about him but £30M is excessive, £15-20M for someone largely unproven in the PL sounds about right.

If your buying from someone who doesn't need to sell immediately (PST, release clause), these things are going to drag out.

Its all in the 'waiting for people to make there move' stage of the window. The big big deals were clubs are throwing money at it will go through, but other than that, not much

Think would settle between 20/25 with addons if honest. They will be looking to sell also will depend on the interest in him

I think it could end up around 20m with add ons and/or maybe a % on the profit if he is ever sold which would be not unreasonable.

Didn’t the original report say the RS wanted to assess him first in preseason. If so, this deal won’t get done (if our interest is genuine), until late July, early August.

I think that this rumour is going to prove to be accurate. However , I haven't seen that much of him. Granted he fills a position of need but is he any good ?

He also only has a year left all clubs will play poker with Liverpool and see if they can hold their nerve

Yeah these players that rely on pace are one bad injury away from not being the same player. Andros Townsend said in an interview, when he was here, that when he broke through and got in the England team he could go by people without thinking about it. Got a bad injury around 23/24 and said he was never the same player after that, lost a years of pace, couldn’t go by people as he’d relied on pace.

Doak missed 197 days with his knee injury in 23/24 season and 112 days last season with a thigh injury. That’s two big injuries two seasons in a row and big injuries as well.

£30 mil for someone who hasn’t been able to complete half a season and will be half the player if he loses his pace is to big a risk.
