Transfer Rumour Ben Doak

I don’t care if Liverpool think he’s good enough for them, they’re a super league mega club with unlimited funds and are currently going around cherry picking Europe’s top talents. We aren’t and probably will never be anywhere close to their level.
It's less to do with if he's good enough for them and more to do with them thinking he's not good enough for us and being willing to sell him here.

But we have had Jack Harrison playing in his position for the past two years, and currently have nobody in that position, so he obviously is good enough for us?
There's quite literally thousands of players out there good enough for us with that logic.

….as @Zatara informed us, Broja was a long time target of Thelwell and we should be thankful to him for bringing the player to our club, so I’d be hopeful the new regime have much better selection criteria. I’d be wanting us to be much more effective in the loan market, assuming we have to exploit it.
Obviously fitness can't be guaranteed. But if we are looking to sign players who depend on pace to do a job we surely must take into consideration their past injury issues. I know we were desperate at the time, but signing Broja given his past history and the fact that he was months away from even training was plain crazy.

Not for me at the suggested price and I would hate to give them lot any cash - I would imaging they'd go out and buy a top young prospect from Europe for the same money.

Alcaraz was £12m - why pay £30m for someone with less experience and a poor injury record to boot?

Liverpool make mistakes in the transfer markerts,
They just don’t get mentioned the Ox, Keita, Thiago,
now Nunez.
Who knows how Doak will turn out, he’s 19, and he has a year left on his deal, have they offered him
a new one and he’s said no?

His contract expires in 2027.

I’m sure there are many players of a similar age and potential to Ben Doak who would suit us perfectly on the continent or South America or even Asia. There’s a big wide world of footballers out there. It was encouraging that we got Alcaraz from South America, but even then he would have been known to the club given his previous flirtation with the PL.

There is, but what if we (the scouting team) like Ben Doak? We need to forget where he’d be coming from. If the club can see a talent there that can blossom here then so be it.
