Really does my head in that I have to feel guilty for ignoring some guy outside my supermarket because I won't give him some money for some magazine I don't want to buy.

Get a ******* job, I earned my money through hard work.

He's got a job, selling the Big Issue. There but for the grace god and all that, mate. If you've got a quid, why not give it to him? I doubt his life is better than yours.

You don't have to feel guilty, it's your choice. If you do feel guilty then go back pay for the mag, then let the guy sell it again. That's what I usually do. It is a good read though.

Anyway can you send me some money please.:unsure:

Posted via Mobile Device you beat me to it Neb, life has a way of knocking you down when you least expect it. There but for the grace of God indeed.

Doesn't it just, Latch. It's got some cruel sucker-punches, just when you're least expecting it. :unsure:

Did I say he was selling the Big Issue?

I doubt he is in that position because of bad luck, and I don't believe in God - so would prefer not to be forced to part with money that I earn. Why should I give it to him? Why don't the government get him off the streets and into a program where he can regenerate his life?

A poor chap selling the Big Issue outside of an M & S store down south was murdered by a gang of yobbos in their mid teens who were also intolerant.

Went down in my estimations big time there Ghost.

Maybe have a read;

Vendors Stories

I read it, but seems to be marketing ploy to gain sympathy. Why not give them names, and perhaps a different picture for the people? I don't feel sorry for someone who has messed his life up somewhere along the line.

I know it's a controversial comment, and I suppose I should have perhaps gone to a less tree hugging site, but it's my opinion and it annoys me.

Why they stand outside Somerfield which fleeces you anyway before you get out the store, is beyond me. I only go there because it's closer but it's not what I want.

Is it innovative to stand there and every now shout out for money? No. He seemed to be dressed in decent clobber, and I have heard tales of them living in relative luxury but still begging.

Although I feel sorry for the man murdered, but I my level of sympathy for someone murdered is no different if they are homeless or not.

Posted via Mobile Device Fair enough Ghost you have a good point there, some do it when they have no real need of the money, they are not beggars just lazy f*cks on the take and deserve your contempt. 'Real' beggars though, those that have hit rock bottom, and, for whatever reason, are unable to get their life's back together, at least deserve our understanding if nothing else.

Those Big Issue sellers: if they have a dog with them I always buy a copy. You need an edge in that game.
