You know, I've never visited Germany. Nearly every country bordering it, but never Germany. I really must go, everything I hear about it sounds ace. Particularly the beer ?

All were fantastic, but the pick of the bunch was the Tetley Cask.

It was like velvet and just shows how good a beer that is often looked due to not being looked after can be.

Sporadically, The Rose of Mossley had Tetley Cask on although thinking about it now I could be thinking between five and ten years ago, at least.

It could be hit and miss depending on how bothered her (Marie's) husband could be to look after it, but when it was good it was very, very good!

You should go for it. If you make it to Germany, I’d recommend Bamberg for a day or two. You’ll have a great time in the Biergarten upon the hills. The Rauchbier straight from the tap is delicious

It’s like a lot of traditional bitters.

When it’s looked after, it’s sublime, but when it’s not, it’s just dreadful.

Which is why ( imo) a lot of pubs just go for the likes of Doombar and Greene King IPA, as it’s so bland to begin with, there’s not much difference between a good one and a bad one.

Not a big drinker, my last alcohol was in late July on my birthday. I am actually enjoying while waiting for my Christmas Dinner a couple of bottle of Tsingtao lager (640ml bottles) and have another 6 in the fridge.

Had a few of these just now. Good stuff from a weird brewery that I've posted about before.




So "farm brewery" is a business status in some states and regions (from what I gather) where you have to grow some of the ingredients that go into your beer. So it's a working farm that also sells beer. This one is huge and doesn't look like a brewery. Here it is from the outside:

And it also explains why the bathroom contains showers and laundry:
