Beer, revisited

Not many of those left, my favourite type of pub with no smells of stale cooking oil and people there for the ale and conversation. I fear for the survival of the traditional boozer.

The Pub used to do food, and we asked the customers what they wanted. They wanted a wet pub as every other pub around is really a restaurant. We have a purpose built BBQ hut and massive decking area for the summer and we allow a fish and chip van or a wood fired pizza to turn up in our large car park at weekends. It all seems to work really well....

Which ales do you have on draught, and do you rotate the guest beers? Are you Cask Marque accredited?

Pedigree is the main ale, we have a continual stream of guest ales from a variety of brewers including Charnwood, Titanic and Batemans. We haven’t bothered with Cask Marque yet, I’ve observed the regular testing at another pub, temperature, taste, clarity, glasses, and cellar inspection and to be honest we would walk it. A pub close by has it, but their beers cannot compare in quality to ours. It’s not that we don’t want to do it, just that we had more pressing issues.....

Haven't had Bateman's for ages, don't they have a propensity for putting names d of X's in their beer names ?

Finished work early today. Had two cans of Northern Monk, New World IPA. Unpasteurised and unfined, very nice indeed.
Missus has just text saying she’s working late so I have opened a bottle of Weihenstephaner, Bayrisch Dunkel. First impressions are good, but I better call it a day after this one. Maybe.

Full report on your hangover tomorrow please lol
