The best pints of Guinness I've had were in The Abbotsford in Edinburgh closely followed by The Morning Star in Belfast, although I was surprised recently by a decent one in our local Wetherspoons and it was only £3.25 to boot.
The research continues.

On the flip side, Flanagans Apple, in Mathew St, in the City Centre, consistently serves the worst Guinness known to mankind.

If i was the Guinness rep for the City Centre, I`d refuse to supply them, on the grounds that they were damaging the brand.

Considering they`ve been open for decades, it`s some going to serve Guinness that bad for so long.

Someone told me once you serve a long and rigorous apprenticeship before becoming a barman in the south of Ireland. No doubt the story was apocryphal but I'd be surprised to get a bad pint of Guinness there. I wonder if they have a Wetherspoons equivalent?

It’s spectacular in my local. Pump is always running which stops the Guinness stagnating in the pipes.

Yeah, I wouldn't say its common but you do see it about, good summer beer. I've had the dark version in Malta, that was really nice. Just read actually that Especial became the US number one selling beer last year after that Bud Light boycott.

It's one of many gimmicks they've run. Guinness Extra Cold is the same stuff but put through the cooler on one extra loop and is less than half a degree cooler.
