Beer, revisited

I'm having a few of these quasi-local brews (about 2 hours away from me in Richmond):

Later on I'll switch to some local primates, distilled just over the mountain from me:

Had a decent batch of homebrew over Christmas - used hops from my garden so it was a bit of an experiment, they'd gotten all tangled up so I wasn't sure which was which. Anyhow, brew tasted quite gently hopped and was easy drinking.

Getting a bit bored of bottling homebrew, it has to be said. It's a ballache and takes a couple of hours per batch. Easy alternative is to keg it, which takes no time, but can you imagine 40 pints of quality ale on tap in your kitchen? You'd tan it in no time, be boozing left right and centre. Bottles tucked away in the cellar are a bit more civilised.

My other half made some homebrew this Christmas, its a 6.3% IPA i've been told. Ive tasted it and its not too bad, not my usual Vodka and Cranberry, but ok!
