Beer, revisited

Hofbrau dark lager, basically. Found it in the hipster beer shop near me. Decided to give it a go. The other stuff is sour cherry beer, which the missus likes, the weirdo.

I’m a big fan of ice cold sour cherry beer and the raspberry stuff too.

Developed a taste for it on my first trip to Belgium, as a day time session beer.

Is that common in Germany ? What's the equivalent here ? You vill answer me !

Genuinely don't know. Brought a Dunkel on tap from a bar in Dresden last year, was pretty nice. Think the style of beer is fairly common in Slovakia, poss the Czech Republic as well.

Dunno what the equivalent would be. It's not really a true lager but not quite like a British dark ale.

Or just a dark beer outside of Bavaria apparently.

Dunno, quite like the dark lagers wherever I've tried them in central Europe!

I nearly got her a sour gooseberry beer, but erred on the side of cherries as I know I'm.safe ground there. Got told off for not getting it. Ffs.

The malt according to wiki. They taste malty.

Was eying up a dopplebock, but it was 7.8% and nearly £6. I'm not sure which put me off more.

I made some cherry brandy a couple of years back. Wasn't impressed, but I think I used too much sugar. Might try it again when cherries are in season.
