I tried the Vocation barrel aged stouts from Tesco this week, chocolate cherry and the other just in is a banana blended one. I had high hopes as they are barrel aged but felt let down.
The breakfast stout is very good - blueberry and waffle flavoured 6.9 %.
Sounds like it should be rank, but it’s very nice.

A year later a pint of Skol was 27p in The Lamb , quite an increase , must have been paying for the ambiance.

I presume the bitter and mild were Tetley's, both were a decent drink, unlike today as they are now part of Carlsberg and it is no longer brewed in Leeds.

Had a few pints of Trappers Hat at the Refreshment Rooms in Rock Ferry yesterday. Creamy and delicious, best I've ever had. It's a pub, but mainly for food, it was packed yesterday. I had roast lamb with mint sauce in a Turkish flatbread, big thick slices of lamb, very nice. Its right on the shore of the river with lovely views. Recommend it if you're looking for somewhere to eat with a nice pint.
