I used to love ales, any ales would do but since being diagnosed with an intolerance to wheat...I'm stuck with this...

Plenty.

Despite others being on offer, I stayed on this all night, as it was that good,

JW Lees - Bitter 4%.

It’s one of those beers that’s sublime when looked after, but dishwater if it isn’t.

Liverpool Brewing Co - Cascade 3.8 %

Appaloosa - Big Hand Brewing Co 4.5 %.

The cascade was so hoppy that it almost made your eyes water.

The Appaloosa was beautiful, crisp and smooth.

Oh I don't doubt, just saying the hop itself is a nice hop. Not Citra nice but pleasant all the same

Another cracker from Peerless, I can see see a Wirral thread in the offing ; @chicoazul wherefore art thou. So drinkable, and the colour was of spun gold.

This was not to be sniffed at, so I didn't.

I've got to ask this of me mates over yonder, is there a limit or something for the ABV of beers over there? We in the States probably average 7-8%, most of the ones I see here are in the 4-5% area.

Beers can range from 2.8% to 12% and above. Depends on your poison.

I guess one of the main reasons is that the stronger stuff doesn`t sell as well here ?

Nah there isn't a limit. Plenty of keg beers here are 7% + but most posted on here are cask with tend to be under 5%, but not always. You have to go to more specialist places to find them.

I drink plenty of IPA's, imperial stouts, Barley Wines, Belgians just don't post them often on here
