BE HONEST

Holds hand up, I was so disappointed with his appointment I didn't even bother watching his first press conference, I was caught up in the hysteria over this man:

So happy how this season has gone, once we stamp our authority over Europe and the trophies start rolling in we will once again be force to be reckoned with. Allez allez oh!!!

I was 50/50 on him.

I'm a lot more in favour of him now of course.

He's done very well in his first season here but given our likely continuing fincancial position he still has a long way to go before he can be called a success. If he can win something whilst continuing to refresh the squad with quality players with little net spend then he's done good.

But the armband though...

I didn't want him and when we got him I thought we were going down, I am made up we have him now, top manager

I was a doubter too but is happy as he is up to the job in his first season with the club. I thought we were going to finish 11th or something.

I still have doubt on some of his permanent signings though. McCarthy is the pick of the group as he is outstanding but the others are not. Nevertheless, credit where it's due, Martinez has done way better than I expected and I hope he can do the same next season.

Didn't want him. I thought we'd see a managed decline under him. I said we could have an ace first year, but transfer dealings would see us fall down the league in the long run.

My long term prediction could still be right, but I doubt it and the fact I didn't want him means I was wrong either way. He was the correct choice and is what the club needed after 11 years of Moyes.

He wash't my first choice and I was never overly convinced by him at Wigan but Wigan's performance in the FA Cup final did it for me. They went out there against the best team in the land and showed balls and spirit and attacked. That's what I'd wanted from Everton for a long time.

I wasn't convinced but I'm a convert. He has been a breath if fresh air. We play much better football and try to do the right things. We fear no team or no away trip. There's a real feel good factor around the place. There have been blips but that is understandable. Things will get better too.
