The thing is though mate, we can't do anything about the BBC and what they broadcast. I agree that many other players get away with blue murder as far as they're concerned, and it is frustrating, but you can only control what you can control, and for us that is what MoFro does.
It's equally true, and equally frustrating, that the wind up merchants never get sanctioned, but the people that react do. It's a sad fact of life and something that MoFro will have to deal with, just as Rooney has to deal with it.
It's hard to judge whether his flailing arms are deliberate as we can't get inside his head, but when a player looks at his opponent, then flings an arm in his direction it looks bad. He can't use the excuse that he didn't know he was there because he looked straight at him moments before. The attention he gets might not be fair but he's going to have to be whiter than white to overcome it. Since his booking spree he's cleaned up his tackling pretty well, this is just going to have to be one of those lessons for him to learn.
On the whole yesterday I thought he was superb, not just for his goal but his all round play, but he does need to watch his discipline.
I disagree mate there is plenty you can do just look at Fergie and he controls almost everything that is said about his club in the press. Its a well known fact that if an article is printed or a peice of television screened that doesnt meet with is approveeel the offending journalist or media outlet do not get interviews with players, access to press confrences etc etc. The media are terrifed of Fergie and as such have him painted as this all knowing psychological genius who messes with everyone head, basicly blowing bubbles up his back side and sucking up to him.
Granted the media might want accesss to Utd more then they do to Everton but the basci principlas still apply. If you take it that we have been involved in two domestic semi finals in the past two years, we have a manager who is air apparent to the Utd job, and we have a core of current and youth international players coming through who could possibly being the England team for years to come.
So with that in mind you start calling the shots, you let the media know what is acceptable and unacceptable in regard to coverage of your club and players, and you either restrict or grant grace and favour to your club and squad based to the media on what you consider a fair and even hadned media approach to your players and club.
I think the game is getting overly PC myself a lot of the rough and tumble is going out of it unessecarily, i like seeing players, being commited taking the odd over commiited tackle or knock and getting up to dish it out again. Footballs going to soft, i know football is in a compleatly different context but when you see some of the physicality and hits plyers take in rugby it is breath taking, funny i cant help feeling that some of the rules brought into correct Cynisisim have only led to a different kind of cynisisim.
Agreed though Mofro is turning into a terrific player, his all round game for the last two games has been superb he benifiting immensely form whatever coaching work is being done with him.
