He broke his leg in 2 places and at his age that is something that you have to watch closely. I want to see him as much as you, lad, but I understand Moyes' on this one to be fair. I think he's handling him well. Next season though, on the other hand, he needs to be used. He's got a huge amount of ability. I've watched him loads and he'll be a star for club and country.
If Moyes DOES use him next season, and not just bit part but properly, then all will be forgiven. I actually agree with them trying to improve his defensive game though, if he wants to be a top midfielder for US he needs to be complete.
I've watched Ross about 20 times, and he's scary good, totally different to Rooney as he doesn't have Waynes Aggressive streak, which is why Ross is not already a regular, He's more similar to a Modric type, I think the horrific injury he suffered has knocked a bit of his confidence and understandably so too, with time we will have a creative midfield player that will save the club 25+ million which we'd never have had in the first place for a player of that quality, be patient people this kid is a guaranteed Gem.
I've kept an eye on his performances for the reserves, under 18s and various England teams and my opinion hasn't changed, he's as talented as Rooney. A little different in terms of style, Rooney's more of a forward, and has that explosive pace. Other than that, Ross makes the same passes, beats players with even more ease and has that same "give me the ball" mentality that the top players have. They have different personalities but someone like Steven Gerrard is nowhere as aggressive as Rooney, and he's in a similar bracket in my opinion. That's just Rooney's thing, and he thrives on it, but it doesn't necessarily define a top player.
The treatment he's getting speaks for itself really. I don't agree about him being completely being taken out of the picture, but there's obviously been a plan put in place, and the club has wrapped him up in cotton wool. They all know how talented he is.
