I wouldn't have Messi as a right midfielder.

Unfortunately Mina's complete inability to turn faster than a dump truck means he is always going to have issues. Keane is probably the exact level of athleticism that you can get away with.

And they really are a bad combo as they both have the exact same strengths.

Anyway ballon d'or team, Maldini would be our best LB tomorrow night at whatever his age is now and leaving Messi out of a team is pretty crazy.

The other factor is CL success is hugely important in it and Kante didn't play in the competition in either of those seasons. I don't know if that is fair either.

I guess the other option is to be awesome at a World Cup like Cannavaro and Modric but by 2018 Kante wasn't that dominant at club level I don't think.
