I'm in the block directly behind the incident so had a good view and I didn't think it was anywhere near a pen at the game, I just thought it was Barry doing his usual rolling around (which I'm getting tired of) but having seen the incident again this morning I was fuming. It was a clear pen, the Arsenal defender just boots his leg.
VAR is there to pick up incidents the on field ref may have missed and failed to do it's job there. Scandalous. Never forgot the Michael Keane one at Brighton when he brushed the Brighton players foot whilst not even looking in that direction and a pen was awarded. The one last night was 100 times more a pen than that one.

Spot on. I can understand the ref not giving it but no excuse for VAR not recommending an on field review. Then he would have had to give it.
More a VAR error than the ref - though he was poor anyway.
