I find it really odd that a club would agree with a player to sign them next season. I mean, anything could happen between now and then, this is football. New players all the time.

.....it makes sense for the player and buying club if he moves on a Bosman in 12 months. No transfer fee and a mighty wedge to the player. Sure, things can go wrong in his final season but it's some reward to wait.
