I've only ever seen him in that old raver film from 1999 or so...quite liked him in that, really reminded me of someone.




Pienaar was instrumental in a lot of quality build-up play over the years, and his link with Baines was beautiful to behold.

Rooney was magic, but his influence on Everton ultimately was negligible.




I'm apparently mildly eccentric, but in this case I reckon my view is the common one :cheers:
You may have missed the start of the debate when Robertor said that Pienaar is the hardest player to replace of any player we've had in the last 15 years.

I'd say Rooney was harder to replace personally, given that he's gone on to become one of the most successful strikers in premiership history.

if we're formulating like that: sure. Rooney was one-of-a-kind and we let a world-class player go.

But if we're saying who's been most influential for us, that's what I thought I was answering lol
 

I think Ayew or Payet would've been perfect for the role. Someone of that type. I think a Playmaker from the left, but could still be an X Factor player as well depending on the situation.
