Atmosphere at Goodison

As odd as it seems I reckon the return to the first team of Stones will really help our passing system & in the process the atmosphere around the ground.

Stones is so much more willing to move forward with the ball & in general prepared to accelerate play into midfield thru his passing into feet. Jagielka, solid defender that it is, always picks the safe sideways or backwards pass (or the aimless hoof), Distin likewise.

Does the 'solid defender' also apply to Distin? ....

I sure hope not.

The tension was there from the word go tonight ..looking at the bigger picture Everton went into this game without a league win since West Ham on 22nd of November ffs! Nobody is going to go into that stadium with any positives after a winless run .. not even the biggest optimist.

Atmosphere builds, it doesnt just happen. Put a string of wins together and the positive atmosphere will come.

PS- I think those boos have been coming for a while. Its been a tough first half of a season, you know how to stop boo-boys? Win 2+ games in a row. Something we haven't done in Over 8 months - Same agan Sat blues!!!

It's never been the same at Goodison since they Seated the enclosure and made it the family enclosure. Used to get some right blue house scals in there in the 70s and 80s bating the aways in the park end.its just full of mums and little girls munching crisps now.

And what is wrong with that, exactly? I thought Everton were a family club.

I'd much rather be that than a bunch of thuggish morons screaming abuse for 90 minutes.

The Enclosure was ace mid 80's as was the Paddock. The problem with your post is away teams would rather be at a family club than getting abuse screamed at them for 90 minutes.

Nothing better than an angry evil Goodison, a couple of bad decisions usually does the trick.

The boo's near the end whilst 3-1 up when jags went back to Howard whilst winding down the clock were very embarrSing IMO.

Booing the players NEVER breeds confidence or better play. It zaps confidence and Doing it when the team is winning is just bizarre!

I'm all up for a collective boo at H/T or F/T if the team has stunk the place out tho!!

I'm pretty much with you. It has been suggested that they weren't booing the player, but rather the style.

I'm pretty sure if I was Jags, I'd have felt I was being booed for the pass I just did.

Booing at 3-1 up with 10 minutes to go...killing off a game after some dodgy results. Seems a bit extreme to me.
