Aston Villa vs Everton

Did someone say they pass nicely round the half way line. Sounds a bit like Utd last night. The only problem will be if we underestimate them. COYB!

Villa are badly rubbish. Keep Bent quiet and we win.

If Distin is out straight swap for Heitinga, otherwise keep the same formation and players, keep it tight until half time then Naismith for Neville and Mirallas for Osman on the hour if we're still not winning.

I wouldn't be too disappointed with a draw.

Actually be nice to us mix it up from Monday night slightly, I'm sure Villa will be expecting us to go into the game unchanged and will set their plans accordingly.

Dropping Fellaini back into the middle of the park might throw them.

If Lamberts got them knocking it about nicely then drop Felli back next to Gibbo and Put Osman behind Jela and give either Mirallas/Naismith a start.
Never like playing Villa due to that Artie Ziff look-a-like [Poor language removed] O'Neil, Ashley Young and Agbonlahor the Quick horrible so and so.
We keep our momentum and we'll do these.

Loss or draw at best.

The players will be too emotionally and physicaly drained after the United game.

this for me. Theres no way the players who started against Man Utd can reach that same level of intensity again, its impossible to make yourself show up for a game like this. I would make a lot of changes and let some of the boys just outside the starting 11 (coleman, heitinga, naismith/marillas) have a chance out there to compete for a position.

I wouldn't play jelavic, distin, or osman

When i wrote that i was kinda taking the piss and suggesting it would be the excuse used if we lost.

But thinking about it, they are only gonna have 4 days between the games which normally should be ok for professional athletes at the peak of their game.

But after the effort they put in last night? Only natural if it takes its toll, might be best to make a few changes to the team if we have the options, which we do.

Villa looked remarkably weak going forward against west ham, which will be a lot easier for us to take advantage of than in other seasons where we've met early on.

I think this game is a big test of the intentions of our campaign this season. Villa is a team we consistently underperform against. If we can come out the blocks and secure an emphatic win, it will be an impressive statement of intent.
