Idioteque

Player Valuation: £750k
So the ecstasy of beating a giant at Goodison Park comes round now on to the games we must be winning (and to which we find more difficult)

Annual draw with Villa coming up - I'll go 1-1, saw a bit of El Ahmadi and Ron Vlaar for Feyenoord last season and were the backbone of that team, so they along with Bent probably their most dangerous players, would say away win but we never win at Villa Park.

Love it mate.

A lot more detail than the other clown who normally has a go with these.

Hopefully we'll stuff them. I can't bear Villa or their 12th man banner, more like the quiet man.

Every time I've gone to Villa we batter them and don't win, so I'm going to Creamfields expecting us to tonk them.

hoping we'll beat them this time, can't wait now, have a really good feeling for this season, that was before we beat united. this isn't the same villa team under o'neill, they haven't got our main tormentor ashley young anymore, would love us to nab agbonlahor off them and resurrect their career. hoping nzogbia continues his form from last season and we'll have nobody to fear. cant wait for the match thread, buzzing like no season before atm, EBEPTONNNNNN

Do we stick with the same team that beat UTD or tweak it? Would like to see Naismith or Mirallas getting on and showing us what they have...dare I say it...4-4-2? OMFG!

I watched West Ham - Villa on Saturday so I could get a look in at what to expect. Naturally, Lambert has them passing the ball a whole lot better, a short and quick continental style. However, it appears they have a problem where they can only seem to do this around the half way line, and therefore they don't look threatening in the final third. El Ahmadi really impressed me and it's safe to say he is their metronome. Delph also impressed me in central midfield. However, N'Zogbia still looked disinterested (I remember when they first signed him and I was gutted it wasn't us), Holman looked off the pace and Bent was largely isolated up front due to Ireland persisting in dropping deep to collect possession.

Their bigger goal threat was in fact Ron Vlaar, he had couple of attempts including a speculative 40 yarder.

I definitely feel we should be optimistic on our chances of coming away with a win, regardless of historical results against them.

Villa are pony. Our record there stinks seen us draw there a lot and lose occasionally never seen us win though!

no 4-4-2, but neville is not needed for a game like this, osman doesn't deserved to be dropped so for me it would be a toss up between mirallas and naismith to play in the hole with felli dropping back. however, i am really starting to warm to felli playing further up the pitch, i wish we had 2 of him to play both positions.

Historical results mean nothing early in the season when there are a lot of strange ones. Lets take advantage while they are changing their style with a new manager and beat them. If WBA can do it to LPL and Rodgers.
