Let’s chat about Master Tactician Dyche in a few months. As of right this minute, it’s a good result against an out-of-form team in the league, and a good first half against Villa Reserves.

I’m not a huge fan of Dyche. But give some credit.

7 of them started against us in the 4 nil game, with 2 of them coming on as subs in that game. Apart from the keeper, it’s close to full strength.

Posted in the Dyche thread, that was perfect execution of the system. Pressing at the right time, falling back in groups and doubling up.

Onana and Garner have been exceptional; everyone with the exception of Danjuma has been great. He needs to pull his finger out of his arse.

Only concern is if Emery puts someone on who can switch the ball quick; it’ll beat our press and turn us round.

Great first half though

It goes to show what a little bit of confidence can do. It's still early days - in this game, and the season - but a win tonight would be a great set up for Saturday.

A win on Saturday, regardless of what happens tonight, and we'll be in a much better position.
