apart from a bad day and bad luck, were there any good signs - any positives? Say Allan-Doucoure still doing well? Anything good from Rondon, Godfrey at RB? etc
We played well for an hour+ for a side that had to be changed up due to injuries. We had a plan that we looked to execute and played some good counters a number of times but just unable to find the killer final ball. Gray had another very solid game.

Us losing is one thing, its the way we did it. Laying down our weapons like we did in Martinez last season. If the team isnt willing or capable of fighting till the end this early in a managers reign/early in the season, this might become the dark season some feared.

What would have happened if Benetiz had made his changes 10 mins later - IMO, he blinked to early.
He compromised our shape and thus, improved theirs...even with a tiring Rondon our shape still had Balance
He Unbalanced us.
He's not helped by the fact that our bench is only 3 deep...and they were on from the start - so no help there, or from a sick note doing a Samuel L Jackson that makes makes Sturridge and Delph look like Bruce Willis in that film Unbreakable.
I don't care how good he is - get him to 'K

The funny thing is those blaming the manager what would have Pep or Tuchel done differently with a bench of Simms, Gordon and Tom Davies whilst we had a half fit Rondon on the pitch and SEVEN players injured already after 5 games???

People need a reality check we haven't a good enough squad and haven't world class players to see us handle losing so many first teamers to injury.

Doesn't help when your RB gifts them 2 goals either.

I knew it was a bad idea to come on here after this result. However, at least reading this (and a couple of others) I know not everyone is totally off their heads.

We always knew the squad was threadbare. It's just a kicker that it's been shown up sooner rather than later.
