I always liked Villa, loved Villa Park one of my favourite away grounds, I remember all the great games we had against them win, lose and draw and its sad that they have ended up like this but if we're honest that could easily have been us. With bringing in Brands and Silva we now seem to be heading in the right direction but football will never be like it was in days gone by, the money is ridiculous and Villa basically played poker on one season and lost, looks like another Rangers to me. Reading last night of their liabilities, how they have been bank rolled by the owner to the tune of £5m each month but since the play off final that's stopped. They're in real trouble. Great club, great supporters.
I've always seen Everton as our unspoken rivals. Similar sized clubs, and we've had some great battles over the years whether it be in cup games, or fighting for position in the league. It's also the most played fixture, so there is a lot of history.

OK there mate! Great club Villa. Only ever disliked one Villa player, McMahon, I was at the 2 legs of the League Cup semi in 84 when we won 2-1 on aggregate. First time I went to Villa I was 17 probably the most frequent away ground for me from then on. Always loved going down there and having a beer with the Villa supporters, never any bother. I remember some memorable games. Beating you 4-1 in the FAC 3rd Round in 78. The year you won the league (1980?). Villa beat us 3-1 at Goodison, Tony Morley scored a great goal, Gary Shaw, Mortimer, Withe, Evans etc...cracking side. Ipswich were really good that year I really like them too but wanted Villa to win it and I was rooting for them in the European Cup. Its really sad what has happened but as I said earlier It could easily have been us. Hope it all comes good. What do you think will happen, any info we don't know about on here?

Norrarsed that they’re a founding member and all that, me. Want them liquidated.

Would happily spend the rest of my life never hearing the name Aston Villa again, the way they talk down to the other mids clubs reminds me of RS in the worst way.

Bye Villa lol;)

Newcastle fans will be doing cartwheels at this news - what goes round will be their cry - they found Villa less than gracious in their relegation season under Shearer. It’ll be a long hard road back if it’s as serious as some of the comments suggest. Shows how damaging relegation can be.

.
You're right about the Geordies, couple I know are feeling very smug at Villa's plight. Pathetic, really - what sane person wouldn't wet themselves with laughter at Newcastle going down - it's hardly grudge material. Plus a team gets relegated, but a club goes into administration - orders of magnitude between the two scenarios.

Not arsed about how big they are or that they’re a founding memeber of the league etc. They need to be an example to everyone that if a club is run that poorly then they pay the price.

It’s about time these ridiculous owners who are only in it for a jolly are eradicated from football.

I can't understand the vitriol being directed towards Aston Villa. They are a big club in trouble, I know it is trouble of their own making but I still have sympathy for them and the people who pay their money to go and watch them.
They will pay a price as they will struggle for years now to get things back on track but to want them out of existence is going to far, in my opinion.

Villa away has historically been a quite antagonising fair so I don't think the club has adhered itself to many Blues, hence the lack of sympathy.

In the terms of football in general, then it's a worrying situation and their collapse (which I do feel is unlikely) would be a loss for the game.

Family ties in the region, so know quite a few of their fans. Worst fans in the entire West Midlands. The Midlands Kopites if you will.

Quietly enjoying their woes.
