He's a Liverpool legend or icon - nobody disputes that - but currently he's Aston Villa's manage. Publicly, his allegiance should be to Villa and Villa alone.
Privately, he's free to do whatever he wants. Look at @polish's post where he's advising an opposition team how to get stronger - what the fluff?
If I was a Villa fan, I'd be very concerned whenever they faced the RS because clearly his priorities are somewhat elsewhere and happy to join the RS media output.

Now we have the “we” garbage on bt sport for the final, and advising klopp on who to sign - it beggars belief and I’m quite shocked at how nonchalantly the villa fans are taking it, I thought they had more self respect and we’re a big club.
Gerrard is in direct competition with the rs ffs - it makes zero sense for him to be allowed to carry on the way he has, and if the league has any integrity he would be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.

He was the pundit at the match for BT. Don't pundits comment on the players and what is good and what is bad. There is no difference between Slippy saying Liverpool needs younger midfielders after commenting on a match as there is Roy Keane saying it. Regarding the video of him. It doesn't bother me and when we played against Liverpool, he was 100% behind Villa. The manager of a football club is a job, it is not a vocation. Slippy needs to get Villa into the top half or Europe and if he does then brilliant for Villa and I will support him fully. If he fails he gets sacked and we move on. Everyone knows Slippy is a Liverpool fan and everyone knows Frank is a Chelsea fan, it doesn't have to stop them from doing a good job at their respective clubs.
If they're happy be viewed as Gerrard FC then fine, I just think it's a little sad a club as big as Villa would be fine with that.
Mate Roy Keane isn't currently managing another PL club that will be competing against United next season. Why is your manager commenting on what signings Liverpool should be making when his current employer hired him to catch up with and hopefully beat said club, that should be the long-term aim for any manager of a big club in the Premier League. To become the best somehow, someway, at everyone else's expense.

Nah if Lampard was doing punditry for a final Chelsea were playing in it wouldn't sit right, he's nailed his colours to our mast now and should act like it in public. If he were talking about what signings they should be making to stay ahead of everyone else (including us, his employer) you'd be ballistic and rightfully so. Only tin-pot clubs with no ambitions whatsoever would sit easy would that sort of thing. I didn't include Villa in that pack before this, very surprising.
