Great, just what we need. The Sky Sports Sunday game, which comprises a trip to high flying Aston Villa. A fan base whom I personally loathe and a fixture which hasn't yielded much joy in recent seasons. Probable embarrassment on prime time TV. Lovely.

Its a far cry from the days when this fixture was for the 'best of the rest' and saw some hard fought close games. Villa, to give them their dues, experienced some utter misery with the late and post-Randy Lerner years, eerily similar to the utter catastrophic Moshiri era. That we somehow stayed up and Villa got relegated perhaps should warn us to view our current situation more favourably. It could have been far worse. Now is the chance to rebuild, as Villa have very effectively.

I think Grealish is back for a trip to his hometown and boyhood club. No doubt he'll miss it after going on the lash in Birmingham the night before and getting thrown in the clink for pulling a moony at a hen party.

Other than that, barring any exciting signings it'll probably be much the same. Might moyes grow a set and keep Patto at full back and give Aznou a go? Naaaa.

A pessimist is never disappointed. But that's no fun. Hard fought 1-0 to the blues with 11% possession.

You had my attention until just there...

Season ended effectively at about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

It'll be of interest now only in terms of who's handed a game and whether Rohl, Aznou, Dibling (and Armstrong if the dullard doesn't send him back to the club he prefers over Everton) kick on from here.

It's after the Lord Mayor's parade and the pressure is off big time with maybe a missing face or two back, so I wouldn't say a draw is beyond us.

*sigh*

I'm with James Garner on this one.

James Garner:

The season definitely isn’t over".

The season is over for the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, but we still have half a season left. You see how tight the league is; if you win one game, you are right up there again, so the season is definitely not over".

I feel for the lad having to parrot his manager's words for him. We must be close on a deal.

On a personal level his season is alive in terms of maybe trying to edge into the England squad for the WC.
