I think that just proves my point. He isn’t impacting the player involved in the goal whatsoever. That has to be read as you are impacting an opposition player challenging from the ball who is in a key position otherwise you could be offside in the corner flag for something that happens in the 6 yard box and that’s just nonsense

It literally says you are interfering if you challenge. We may not like the rule but it’s not even a matter of interpretation.

....exactly why the 'rule' is entirely subjective, ultimately coming down to the opinion of a couple of match officials over how 'involved' an offside player is in any given scenario.
