If only is was just denial. Can you imagine anyone still being a Trump supporter after this?
Denial is a helluva drug
There are plenty that don't care if it was illegal if it means they get their way.

taking on a highly trained agent is quite another.
Do any UK posters struggle to get to grips with this thread? It goes waaaay over my head and I wish it didnt
Personally don’t find the people that believe all the Trump stuff and mad conspiracies as abhorrent as the people that know it’s all bullshit but go along with it and don’t speak out as it’s benefiting themselves.Do any UK posters struggle to get to grips with this thread? As I've seen stated recently, Trump simply filled a demand that was out there already from a third of the electorate, and those in the GOP that followed him into the abyss realized that demand was out there and Trump only made it acceptable to feed it. Abhorrent behaviour from people who should know better, but that's where we are as a society.Personally don’t find the people that believe all the Trump stuff and mad conspiracies as abhorrent as the people that know it’s all bullshit but go along with it and don’t speak out as it’s benefiting themselves.
Even thats a bit deep for me....Personally don’t find the people that believe all the Trump stuff and mad conspiracies as abhorrent as the people that know it’s all bullshit but go along with it and don’t speak out as it’s benefiting themselves.

Visited the US many times and always enjoyed it for the most part but think for me, it would not be a nice place to live right now. It’s on another level, but can relate with the majority of American posters with the mess in the U.K. over the past 10 years.Even thats a bit deep for me....![]()
Oh yes, can relate to this. The division there seems too deep to heal, and, imo Trump was the absolute driver of it. Our smaller but similar issue was Brexit, both gave voice to people that decent society had almost won over (beaten). Yeh, it is as if it he gave voices to the worlds idiots. The thing is, they must have always been there, just festerng without a cause. The worrying thing is, the western world unfortunately almost always imports American culture. Here in New Zealand we have idiots protesting things fed by misinformation and mad conspiracy theories (i.e. vaccines, the supposed elites running a worldwide cabal) and waving around Trump and Qanon flags. Even worse, it's becoming increasingly apparent that our normally centre-right political parties are leaning towards more conservative viewpoints, no doubt to try and gain support from some of these nutters.
Given that ordinarily there isn't really much polarisation in matters of politics for Kiwis (I've voted for both our main left-leaning and centre-right political parties before), it is concerning to see the divisions and the hate coming from people with increasingly far-right extremist viewpoints. Before Trump and his BS, if someone had told me that the 2019 Christchurch mosque attack could happen here, I'd have laughed.
