It's not like his body instantly degrades as soon as he has his birthday. He might not be able to put in the same shift as he did last season, but even if he was half as good as he was last season, it would still be an improvement over our current options.
He could also set a good example for our young left backs coming through the ranks (if we stopped selling them)
