He played 34 games last season for a strong Aston villa team over digne and Matty cash, I haven't watched him but he must of done something right when they seemed to have other options available, I think people are fixated on his age I understand whythere is ire as its unambitious , but Thiago silva is almost 40 too and still decent. I wish it was no pun intended a younger player but he is better than mykolenko

This cannot be a real link the guys like almost 40. If true then the board seriously are taking the piss out the fans and Thelwall can do one. Not heard a peep from him with his vision, his plans for the season, nothing which is a disgrace considering the state the club just finished last season with. The club really does make me unhappy I'm getting totally fed up with it all now, I can't even find a single reason to look forward to the new season and we shouldn't be made to feel that way.

I’d take him over mykolenko in the hope mykolenko can improve or we find a new LB next season. Played plenty of minutes last season yes 38 seems old but he’s clearly looking after himself just like we wouldn’t turn Milner down except his rs connection also ibrahimovic we’d of took at 38. If we get a season out of him great not the most exciting signing but probably not the worst either, if it’s true just shows how bad things are here. Need to realise we’re relegation candidates of the league and no money to really turn that round but with some smart recruitment could pull us away from it and hopefully a full season with dyche helps

It's ageism to deny it. Yes players lose a bit as they get older, but this feller's relative decline makes him still the superior of our 14 year younger current LB.
