spot on. Jags has raised his game as well to the level we expect. That pairing has experience written all over it and it's paying off. I reckon it's helping that Williams is more vocal too. Jags is a great defender but never seems like he talks enough.

yep. Last season when Jags was playing either with Funes Mori or Stones out of former and Galloway on the left and Coleman not in great firm, he looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. He's looked sharp so far, quick to get out and close down when needed.

Was caught flat footed on a corner tonight which could have been costly but was imperious apart from that

Was superb tonight, him and Jagielka. Jags has been very criticisable in the past year or two but they both were fantastic tonight. No real goal threat from Sunderland apart from the offside Defoe shot and perhaps Kone's header from the corner

He looks amazing. I knew he was good but it's only when seeing him every week for us I realize how good.

We could well have the meanest defenses of the league this season.
