He only plans to be with us short term, not added if he leaves us with an aging squad. Hopefully Walsh will bring youth to the squad.

It's a wise move if you're trying to protect a £6M a year contract.

Ultimately unsustainable though. We have a well advanced youth policy at the club and it bears playing and financial rewards for us. We turn our backs on that for any length of time at our own peril.
