People also forget that when your side isn't particularly deep how much an ace striker covers up a ton of wounds/weaknesses. Our defensive record wasn't all that great before the injuries, and our goalkeeper is Mr. McFlappy but DCL more often than not cancels out the derpiness. Where is LC w/o Vardy? Aubameyang, for whatever reason, turning into jelavic 2.0 has decimiated the club.
So true Aubamayang being a beast saved their skin repeatedly. Seems he got his big bumper contract and stopped scoring... wonder if he’ll be joining Ozil on the blacklist!

IIRC he went on a few goal droughts for Dortmund?

I know when he was with them he needed about 4 gilt-edged opportunities to stick one away. Im surprised he did as well as he did last season for Arsenal, tbh.

Looks like Aubameyang is turning into the next Adebayor: Plays out of his skin gets the big contract and goes to pot until it's
time for the next big contract to come around. Plays out of his skin... - wash rinse repeat.

I don’t think he ever went on a run this bad but he definitely wasn’t clinical, they just created never ending chances because German football is so attack minded.
We’re seeing similar with Werner right now to be fair, great player but does miss his fair share of chances too.

Like I said, never happened.

But yes he held a badge on his shirt. It’s ok for football fans to scream dogs abuse at players, but this action of holding a badge ? Well it’s an outrage.

Football fans are so precious sometimes it’s embarrassing.
There lies a flaw in your response, he didn't get dogs abuse whatsoever, on the contrary as I said, over 3,000 stood on their feet to applaud the oily headed fraud only to throw the said applause in our face.

Forgive me for not believing the account of somebody who made up him kissing the badge.

Regardless, I wasn’t referring to that specific match, players get abuse constantly from fans. Fans even abuse their own players. Including ours. And yet a player holding the badge of another club is disgusting.

I actually was at the match and I can confirm that the crowd reacted directly to his actions. I'm not sure if he kissed the badge or not as it was down the other end from us, but he certainly acted like a tit

You keep being too cool for school though if it allows you to feel superior

What are you on about ?

You can be respectful of a club when you leave especially if you spent the bulk of your career there and been a fan favourite. Never got that impression from Arteta. I don’t have any problems with ex players celebrating goals against us as long as it's not over the top, he wanted to prove he was a top gunner when without us and players like Pienaar and Cahill elevating his work he wouldn't have even gotten the chance. He's a bell.

Meanwhile, the guy Arteta replaced...

Never be the guy that follows "the guy". Always be the guy that follows the guy that followed "the guy".

When it does work out for the immediate successor, it's usually because it's an existing assistant that takes over and runs most everything the same way. Trying to put your own stamp on the job (intentionally or not) as an outsider following a legend is a huge challenge.

Personally think he’s a decent person who’s made a mistake jumping in to manage a club like Arsenal (but which aspiring coach wouldn’t, given the opportunity?), and also made a mistake in the way he handled leaving Everton.

Don’t think that makes him a bell, and find some of the comments in this thread buzzing off his failure a bit weird.

Each to their own.
