Player Valuation: Free Transfer
Arteta transfer going on's has started tounges wagging in Scotland
Mikel on loan from Barca signs for PSG in France
Barca sell him at vastly inflated price to Rangers
Rangers loan/sell him to Real Sociedad
Real Sociedad loan him then sell him to Everton
whats the connection or who is the connection ????

tong u es

perhaps the connection is football.

barca - him and riquelme didnt cut it
psg - rangers came in because of obvious skill
rangers - got injured and struggled to get back in
sociedad - was demonised by the manager and faulted for all the sides problems
everton - bargain second only to cesc on a free - been a mainstay.

he wasnt injured at Rangers for that long, shoulder injury im sure
there seems to be one or 2 people hawking this guy around europe
But why

Well, at Rangers he had a stellar first season, got injured and never recaptured his form in his second season. Sold onto Sociedad, then a manager change there meant he was forgotten about, and that is when Davey Moyes picked him up on a half-season loan. As we all know, he ended up buying him for ~1.8 mill. Bargain.

i disagree, he was out for months and they got a replacement, in that time out the new signing made an impact and 20 year old arteta struggled to force his way back in.

cheers.

(pretty good, dylan and i posted in the same minute)

He was young player who didn't settle, for one reason or another. He's settled now. There are no 'transfer goings on'.

may i say, great first post, inciting shadow over a clear, CLEAR fan favourite.

perhaps a hello elsewhere and then a slightly more subtle questioning of the player that is the regular heartbeat of the side would possibly have garnered more genuine and thoughtful responses.

:hawklike:

Points about his past have all been made above, so i'll just say

Who cares???... no one "hawking" him anywhere now. He's on a 5 year contract with us, is happy and settled, and is one of the best players
(1) i've seen in a blue shirt and
(2) in the premiership

Its to Moyesy's credit that we picked him up cheap, figured out how to get the best from him, and to Artetas credit for working hard to develop himself.

If anyone else paid too much in the past, or couldnt realise his potential then thats their problem. I dont think there are any real secrets to uncover here - if there are please enlighten us.
