I wouldn't be surprised if the game programmers turned to a lot of these old paintings for inspiration.

One of my favourite paintings. I’ve had a copy, obviously, on my wall, in various houses For about 27 years. Me and the Mrs went to the Van Gogh exhibition in London which was really interesting. Apparently he was colourblind which is why he painted with such vivid colours.
