There was no difference between Arsenal and Everton when Wenger took over they were clubs with equal stature, Arsenal are light years ahead of us now both on and off the pitch their is only one reason for this Wenger and how much he has progressed that club.

This is never going to happen. Nor is he what we need right now as we need someone younger for the long term. But he would be the best manager in terms of credentials in the history of the club, so I don't know why people are acting like appointing him would make us a laughing stock.

Yeah but that's like saying Rooney is the best player we have had for 10 years, or Gazza and Ginola are 2 of the best players we have had in the last 50 years

What are Wenger's plans for his future? Do we know?

Somehow I would be surprised if they included carrying on in management in the premier league.

I can see him in some sort of administrative role in Europe.

I'd take him not as a long term solution but someone who can come in for a couple of years and lay down a philosophy from the bottom up. He can then pass it on to a younger manager while still overseeing things in DOF type role. This is a man that not only transformed the philosophy of a club but rather the philosophy of a whole league. I think he could do a job if proper thought and planning was put into it beforehand by the board.
