ARSENAL TICKET PRICES FOR THE FA CUP ENCOUNTER

I know what you're saying brennan but I'd want Everton to do the same to be honest. It will give them an advantage.

Is it too late for them to change it? Surely Liverpool fans done the same thing?

It would give us an advantage but i don't support screwing over fellow football fans mate. I think away support in this country should be applauded and encouraged wherever possible, whether that be through lowered ticket prices, improved away facilities, or increased away allocations for big games like this one. What goes around comes around in that regard, imo, and it's why i wouldn't want us 'punishing' the hardcore away following of Arsenal because their safety group and a bunch of nobhead suits decide to cut our allocation.

Oh sorry. I mean giving us 5000 instead of 9000. That is giving them an advantage. It has nothing to do with safety in my opinion

That's all they've done it for mate, no doubt about it in my mind. The FA are in a difficult situation unfortunately as they start getting into an awkward position if they oppose the recommendations of a 'safety group'.

This situation says a lot about Arsenal as a football club and the attitude towards fans of the clubs, the FA, Premier League and the TV companies. There is never any consideration given to the fans by any of this lot.

The decision to allocate us about half of the FA's recommended number is an insult to us as supporters - the supposed Health & Safety concerns are a joke. When was the last time anyone got seriously injured when watching a football match? At last night's game the most dangerous moment would have been when Bayern scored their second goal and there was a risk of being crushed in the immediate rush by thousands of the Arsenal fans to leave the ground.

The way games are timed for the sole benefit of the TV companies is a disgrace. If one of the cup games had been Southampton vs. Newcastle there would be nothing to stop them saying "Hey, we'll put this on at 12:45 on Saturday".

Some of the best moments I've had as an Everton fan over the past few years have been at the away cup replays at Sunderland and Chelsea. At both of these we had a full allocation and the atmosphere was amazing. Same thing at Goodison - seeing more away fans usually makes for a much better experience for everyone. I remember being really impressed with the Reading fans a few years ago. Arsenal would prefer a worse atmosphere because it could give them a slight advantage. Absolutely pathetic.

Arsenal v Chelsea Capital One Cup, Chelsea get full 9 000 allocation. Score Arsenal lose 2-0.
Arsenal v Spurs FA Cup, Spurs get reduced allocation of 5 000. Score Arsenal win 2-0.
Arsenal v Liverpool FA Cup, Liverpool get reduced allocation of 5 000. Score Arsenal win 2-0.

Not all that difficult to work out that Arsenal don't want the away fans getting the full allocation, as it could give an advantage to the away team. Arsenal don't want to take the chance that giving us a full allocation and 9 000 Evertonians getting behind the team, would work against them.

Hope this gets coverage on SSN.

No coverage anywhere apart from the Echo* as far as I can see, whereas for the Liverpool game there were articles in The Mirror, Telegraph, Daily Mail and The Metro.

*Interesting to note the different headlines in the Echo;

"Reds fans FA Cup dismay as Arsenal cut ticket allocation over 'safety issues'"
"Everton to receive reduced ticket allocation for FA Cup tie with Arsenal"

Still can't believe Arsenal have been allowed to get away with this. It's an absolute disgrace and I don't understand how these "Safety Advisory Groups" can come up with these bullshit reasons for not giving the full allocation.

Personally, I think the FA should come down hard on Arsenal next season for this. Fair enough, I appreciate that they can't really alter their system of allocating cup tickets to home fans in the Lower Tier this season. But next season, if Arsenal can't sort out a way to accommodate the 4,000 in the Upper, then they should be forced to put away fans in the Lower Tier next to the 5,000 already there. At the end of the day it's their problem. The Emirates is a modern ground so it's baffling that they can just make up a ridiculous reason for cutting the allocation when everyone knows that they are doing it to gain an advantage.

Next season in the Cup (and any remaining seasons until they have played the same amount of games where they have cut the away allocation), they should be forced to leave 4,000 tickets unsold in 3 FA Cup games as punishment for their cheating in this season's competition. The away club should be given the option of 9,000 in the Lower if Arsenal can't sort out their own problem with fans in the Upper Tier.

3 big games in the Cup now where they have bent the rules to gain an advantage. Made up these [Poor language removed] haven't won anything for almost 10 years. Unless you count the CL qualifying trophy that they think exists.

The decision to cut the allocation is a joke to be honest, I'm just glad that I have 9 aways and could get my ticket this morning.

The Football Association has outlined the process for deciding away ticket allocations at FA Cup with Budweiser ties.
A spokesman for the competition said: "FA Cup rules allow for an away allocation of up to 15% of the home stadium.
"However this is subject to the local Safety Advisory Group (SAG) agreeing to that ticket allocation number.

"The SAG is made up of services such as the local council, police, fire brigade and the club amongst others and issues the stadium’s health and safety certificate.
"In regards to the Arsenal v Everton Sixth Round tie at the Emirates on Saturday 8 March, the local SAG has chosen to allocate just under 9% to the Everton supporters.
"Although we appreciate the disappointment in the SAG not granting the full 15% allocation, it is nearly double the amount of tickets that Everton would have received for the Premier League fixture at the Emirates back in December.
"The FA does not have any input into the decision of the SAG and cannot change it as this is a matter of health and safety."

That statement about is being happy because it's more than the league allocation is indefensible. It's irrelevant and actually suggests that they are not considering FA Cup allocation rules. I am amazed this is allowed.
