He definitely offers us variety and that's what's so good. He is completely different to Lukaku and Eto'o, he can hold the ball up much better than both of them, although obviously the other two would be preferred!!
I don't think Eto'o will be playing up top, he'll play deeper and Kone may better suit this withdrawn role for Sammy

Comical the way everybody suddenly thinks hes Pele cos he managed to control a football.
To be fair, it's only balancing out the utter, unsubstantiated dross which has been spouted about the lad for over a season now. Karma.

I'm not saying he's amazing, or he wasn't woeful at times (Stevenage is still a repressed memory for me), but people made out he was atrocious.

Yesterday will do his confidence the world of good and will hopefully remove some of the pressure he's endured (rightfully or not).

Come on Demolition Man (Wesley Snipes lookalike), demolish QPR.

Not good enough for me. We need to buy in some competition for Lukaku.
Personally think we have pretty decent depth at striker now - Lukaku, Eto'o, Kone, Naismith/Mirallas as backups which gives a chance to see if one of the youngsters like Long comes through. Given we had Jelavic, Anichebe and Vellios not too long ago that is a huge improvement.

It is wingers where we lack both first team and youth team options.

He looked hungry to prove himself last night. It's a shame age and his injury record are against him but hopefully we can get at least a good season out of him.

The way he turned and shot on sight last night was impressive. We need more players to have that kind of urgency in the box. He seems able to grab himself half a yard and he doesnt dally, which is important.

Yeah, sometimes it's ok to be direct and show purpose. You don't ALWAYS have to play the beautiful game or score the beautiful goal...
