To those that are saying we got ripped on Lukaku's transfer fee, in context Chelsea paid 70 mil for Morata.

That's appearing to be one fine piece of business at the mo.

I read somewhere that Chelsea also said they inquired and said no when we asked them for money plus Batshuayi and Traore. So essentially, we rejected their offer and they looked elsewhere.

And you say the board wrongly assumed it was the highest anyone would pay. How is that wrongly assumed? Did they sell him for more? Did I miss this? Is he at PSG now for £150m? Did other teams offer more and we rejected it? Or are you saying because PSG paid the amount they did for 1 of the best players and biggest names in the world, that Lukaku is automatically worth more?

It's you making the assumptions.

I didn't say we couldn't look elsewhere at the same time, I'm saying that that was clearly the 1 Koeman wanted and the deal was done. He saw that player as a priority, despite signing 3 other players to play in the same position, at a cost of over £40m... He spent almost the entire Lukaku money on number 10s because, and this was what Koeman was keen to point out, he wanted to spread the goals around the team because that is better than having 1 player score 20+.

Or did the board make him say that as well?

For your information Mourinho said the below on the 6th September ;

And Mourinho feels Lukaku's fee could have doubled in just over 50 days from July 10, when the deal with Everron was agreed, to transfer deadline day. He said: "I think Lukaku on August 31 would have been £150 million.

I said we were in a blind rush to sell him as are board are a bunch of amatuers, a player with 2 years on his contract obviously his price would increase ............

Moyes went through rough patch early in the season and still got 6th, 7th so I will give Koeman for the benefit of doubt for now. If he doesn't change his approach to the game then...

I think you will find you are wrong. It was 75 million + add ons + Rooney. Koeman in my opinion had little choice as the deal
was concluded a few months earlier. The fact Rooney is the only player to have gotten any points strengthens the managers pleas for
more players expecially the striker to be brought in. This fell down due to Barkley not moving
Your 1st sentence negate's your earlier post.

lollollol
Biggest transfer between 2 British clubs ever.

This for a player that threw away the Golden Boot to Kane as he stunk the place out.

Same player plenty on here wanted shut of for 40/50 mil no so long ago.

The club done nothing wrong with this deal fella.

It is a Worldwide market place I fail to see the relevance of it being `british`

Other than replace him ..........
