Get behind the manager, the board let him down creaming themselves to get the Lukaku cash, and the beer swilling, whore poking, past if
free transfer, free wages fathead Rooney. Board are entirely to blame, to think we didnt even allow a bidding war to sign our top striker
Would love to hear Koemans thoughts on the transfer window think he would say `epic fail`

I've been saying this over on Reddit, they're blaming the transfers entirely on Koeman. I'm sceptical because he made a huge point of banging on about how we needed a striker and is clearly not happy we didn't get one.

So you are saying Koeman was desperate to keep Lukaku, and didn't want Rooney? Koeman was courting Rooney in the press in January, and Lukaku was all but gone in March.

Also, this whole "start a bidding war" thing assumes Lukakus agent and best mate didn't plan the transfer with him ahead of time, so it wouldn't have made a difference. These bidding wars don't happen, it's not champ man... Why would teams keep offering more if 1 bid is accepted? Can you name one big transfer that changed because another team came in with a bigger bid than one that was already accepted? Because I'm struggling...

It was Koeman who was so desperate to get Sigurdsson, who he said he's been chasing since Southampton, that he insisted the deal was done, and 6 weeks and £45m later, he finally got him... The final piece of the puzzle... His 3rd no 10 that he has no idea where to fit into his team.

He could've switched targets and spent that time chasing a striker instead, but this was always about proving a point, getting the board to prove they meant business, and prove they were backing him properly.

Blaming the board and saying they let him down badly after the backing he had to get the players he wanted, is harsh to say the least.

I get the lack of Lukaku replacement, might not be all down to him...but the 3 No10's, Cuco, Williams, no width, no pace, the general lack of 'Go' by most on the field, who else you gonna blame

Do I trust him to fix it before it becomes irreversible, aka before the end of the month - No.

Surely no one has trusted Koeman since he left Southampton in that manner? Hope he starts doing well but there's absolutely nothing to trust about him.

Koeman said he would do everything to keep Lukaku, he said it roughly at the same time as Lineker confirmed he had known for three months were Lukaku was headed. We sold a player, our best player, with two years on his contract and failed to sign a replacement

Koeman played the game with Rooney it was part of the Lukaku deal people quote this ridiculous 100 million, it was not, it was 75 million +fathead
The board sanctioned the Lukaku sale as they assumed wrongly it was the highest anyone would pay, it was done behind closed doors and our amateur board did not even invite Chelsea to match or better the offer, this seems obvious to me, and Rooney came the other way Koeman had to like it or lump it.
Koeman stated on many occassions he needed a striker the board let him down hugely, it is like `building a car and then not buying the engine` the blame is with the board

No mate it was 90 mil plus the player who has given us our only points this season.

He is a custodian of the club. He has to earn respect. Last year I was very supportive. Now, totally confused as to where the high pressing game has gone.

It's rarely, if ever, been there since the day he rolled in...some sort of myth, like el chupacabra. We haven't even bought players to implement it. We're actually better equipped to play Martinez's brand of pussyfooting than ever.

These "why didnt we look for a striker insted of using months on Siggy" posts are silly. We are able to scout and court more than one player at a time. The board failing to bring in more targets isnt Koemans fault. He's been talking about wanting a striker this whole summer, and the board knew. If the board couldnt secure the targets Koeman preferd, they should at least have a backup ready - they didnt.

However the board remain silent and Koeman whether in the right or wrong over this, is left to carry the can.

I'm not sticking up for Koeman , but the board are much more culpable imo.

At best it's short sightedness, at worst its negligence.

It also speaks volumes about where the real priorities of the board lie.

We've got a hell of a lot of games to play with no " recognised " striker, before we can go and get another.

The failure to sign a striker could go down as one of biggest cock ups at the club of all time.

I read somewhere that Chelsea also said they inquired and said no when we asked them for money plus Batshuayi and Traore. So essentially, we rejected their offer and they looked elsewhere.

And you say the board wrongly assumed it was the highest anyone would pay. How is that wrongly assumed? Did they sell him for more? Did I miss this? Is he at PSG now for £150m? Did other teams offer more and we rejected it? Or are you saying because PSG paid the amount they did for 1 of the best players and biggest names in the world, that Lukaku is automatically worth more?

It's you making the assumptions.

I didn't say we couldn't look elsewhere at the same time, I'm saying that that was clearly the 1 Koeman wanted and the deal was done. He saw that player as a priority, despite signing 3 other players to play in the same position, at a cost of over £40m... He spent almost the entire Lukaku money on number 10s because, and this was what Koeman was keen to point out, he wanted to spread the goals around the team because that is better than having 1 player score 20+.

Or did the board make him say that as well?

I think you will find you are wrong. It was 75 million + add ons + Rooney. Koeman in my opinion had little choice as the deal
was concluded a few months earlier. The fact Rooney is the only player to have gotten any points strengthens the managers pleas for
more players expecially the striker to be brought in. This fell down due to Barkley not moving
